This is going to sound like a total newb thread, but this forum seems to be one of the best that I've joined - so hopefully I won't get hassled to death 😉
I bought the C5 I've always wanted, 2000 with 30k miles - immaculate and seemingly flawless. After reviewing the basics and its history - headlights/seats and the Lockout fix are a must. I worked as an advisor for Chevy, bought from a customer that was selling due to age.
Ultimately, I'm trying to time the project as it coincides with the stock LS1 into my Datsun race car - and I'd like to keep the down time to a minimum (the wife loves the Vette). I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews about parts/mods and with the goal being top speed/high horsepower but not regular track use, I'm trying to get the car ready for the big job next fall (built 6.0 TT). This isn't my first project car, and I don't cut corners to do it right the first time. I'd like to get past 200 mph at the salt flats in a few seasons, and with the conflicting reviews about coil overs I'm stuck.
Any and all advice appreciated - this is probably a lame post, but I figured someone has done something comparable and wished they'd have done a few things differently. Thanks in advance!
Post this in the C5 FI section. There is no easy one post response that can answer this for you. C5 is an extremely tight engine compartment to install TT. There is no simple or cheap answer.

I'm fully aware and have opted for the UPP kit. Basically, I'm wanting to cover my bases and get suspension/other minor mods in order before pulling the motor/trans.
Yeah for 200mph your gonna have to do a bit more research then posting up a thread like this. Nobody can hand you a list of parts that are going to work perfectly for you. Your gonna need to start reading ALOT and researching. Then make decisions based off your own research. Or just pay a shop and tell them what you want and skip all this.

Talking with a shop would be the fastest way to get a solid answer. How your going to use your newly acquired power will yield different responses.
congrats on your vette and welcome to the fold. Whatever you do.....research it thoroughly and have a plan before you turn the first wrench. You have previous experience....so I am sure you will find your way just fine.
We have pretty much the same car, except mine has 1/2 the mileage of yours.
Basically, I made all of my decisions with the thought that it would be just a bolt-on + tune if I decided on forced injection one day. The only significant change would likely be pistons.
