Default sound deadening project

Just started my sound deadening project. Went with the frost king self adhesive product and will finish up with a precut kit from madvettes. Fun project so far and not to complicated. Will post more pics when the rest of the stuff comes in.

Looking good... the BIGGEST improvement for sound deadening for me was doing the Fender Wells...

Can confirm; don't forget to do the fender wells!

I've done Frost King and pre-cut on two C5s, but doing the fender wells had the biggest impact by far. Here's what I've used (and it's still sticking, it hasn't come off, and hasn't smelled): http://www.lowes.com/pd_154017-81326...ductId=1018733

I've done a pretty big list of cars since I did my Vette and I can confirm, fender-wells first..... and put some on the inside of the liners away from the splash........ biggest improvement you will see.

Next is the doors. Vette doors are very loud and doing the doors well makes the factory system shine.

Finally got the rest of the interior done on Friday. I finished with the frost king self adhesive and installed the pre cut kit from madvette. Went for a cruise today and was very impressed. The stereo sounded so much fuller and it was lots quieter on the road. Still have the wheel wells to do and the doors. I'm very happy with how it turned out. A big thanks for all the help you all have given. Will put up some photos of more of the process when I get to my computer at work.

Next pics will be the doors and the wheel wells. Thanks all for looking and the comments. The pre cut kit was from Dave Hale at Maddvette.com. Great help they were.

I just started on the wheel wells last night. I bet there is a pound of gravel and dirt in there. Started cleaning things up and installing the sound proofing. Keep you posted.

You notice a difference between doing interior then adding wheel wells sound wise?

I will be doing the body part too but didn't think it would hurt to do the well itself. Lots of nooks and crannies to channel sound when you start looking under the wells.

Looks great. I would love to not hear my fuel pump. How much weight are you adding to the car? The cheapest, best sound deadening I did to my car, was put the stock exhaust on, and quiet Bridgestone tires on it.
I can drive my car much faster quiet.

Just finished similar effort on my C5 vert. as part of a wholesale sound system install from Dennis at Double D. Particularly notice benefit from the doors and rear wheel wells...Much better sound control. Big plus and more enjoyment from the car for sure.

Did you put anything on the skin of the door inside before the outer layer? I have enough sound deadener to do this. I do think it would help deaden the sound some. Thanks to you

LOL. Very good point!

But now, you'll have to go out and buy a new dining room set, and a new oven, and a new washer / dryer, if she sees your post....
