Default Sway Bars

looking to upgrade the suspension on my C-5 Vert and as I don't Autocross there isn't any reason I can see to do coilovers.
However my thoughts are to change the shocks out to Bilstein HD's and do Sway Bars my dilemma is what sway bars.
Corvette sport series, Johnny O' Connell (yellow) or one of the ones that Summit racing sells that don't require changing out the end links as I have heard that some of the end links out there make a ( Thunk ) when turning.
That's why I am turning to you guys who I'm sure are much more experienced at suspension than I will ever be so any help will be appreciated.
Thanks Pat

Default Sway Bars

I am considering C6 Z51 sway bar as a upgrade to my 2001 coupe. I went with C6 FE3 suspension shocks. They alone made such a difference in the way my car handles I may not do the sway bar upgrade. Cultrag Performance has a add in the parts for sale forum that has the C6 shocks and sway bars as a upgrade kit. Good luck with your upgrade.

Bilstein's/Z06 shocks plus some OEM Z51/Z06 swaybars and you will have a well sorted handling Vert. As a street driver you need to find a good compromise. Upgrade the brakes and brake lines and your good to go !!

C6 Z06 or Z51 sway bars would be a good choice at a decent price.

Ran C6z06 bars on a 99 FRC with C6Z06 shocks and was really nice, like on a rail.

Stepped up the the pfadt fatty racing bars since. With the C6 set up ride was pretty nice, little bit harsher with the bigger sways now, but not real bad, have um set medium.

Lot of guys, myself included always think bigger is better, but for a street car, occasional track use, ya can't miss with the OEM C6 stuff.

C6 Z06 shocks and C6 Z51 sway bars with metal end links. Corners absolutely flat. Kept the base springs, so the crappy MI roads don't beat me up too badly. A great set up and nice upgrade over stock. Bought mine from Gene (now at Cultrag)...

I have a 2001 vert. Upgraded the sways to Z51s. It drives like it is a different car. Recently swapped out the bushings for urethane. The "old" front bushings aren't that old, but they are quite deformed. What might that be telling me?
I plan to upgrade the shocks at some point. But still have several other mods on the list that will come sooner.
Oh, yeah..........the oem endlinks with the rubber......are these for someone's grandma? They sure make the car mushy in the corners.

Another +1 for the Z51's and new bushings. It handles so flat I now can leave it on "Tour" and still corner flat. It really does feel like a new car.

I'm running the C6 Z06 sway bars and Pfadt Feather lite coil overs on mine. Great combo

Are the C6 FE3 suspension shocks adjustable or a direct bolt on to a c5?

All for about $500-$600. Don't think there is a better mod for the money. I have two seasons on this setup and love it!

Lookout for used C5 Z06 Sway bars.
Mine are for sale but I'm not shipping though.

I've got the JOC Stage I sway bars and shocks I just pulled off my car for sale. Excellent handling and I have absolutely no complaints. When I put the JOC suspension on my car...handling was a night and day difference. My car cornered like it was on rails and I was able to take curves at speeds I wouldn't have dared to do on the stock Z51 setup. I just went to coil overs and went to the next level on the sway bars.

I have an '04 coupe & I replaced my shocks and swaybars with 2013 Z06 parts. What a difference it makes!Doesn't ride stiff at all and the handling is very tight.
