Default No where to go.

It's a beautiful day here in Iowa today and I'm wanting to go for a ride. It could be the last day till spring to do it. I've only had this car since March but I have put a few miles on it this year really just going nowhere. My question is does anybody else drive their car just to drive it with really no place to drive it to. Should I feel guilty about doing that putting miles on it for no real reason. What are your thoughts I'm curious to know.

I do the same thing. I used to do it with motorcycles but now I do it with the Corvette.

OP, You should run down to Amana and have a great meal.

I only get to do that every other year.

Yes I do that quite often. Same of the back roads in Amana are fun to drive on least for Iowa.

Of course it's a corvette. That's why I bought a convertible. Didn't make it back in time for work once. In airplanes they call it the $100 hamburger.

Put miles on it. No point in having it if you don't drive it IMO. My Z is a DD until this weekend... now away for winter (more about grimy roads than anything yet).
Enjoy it, rack up the miles.

I actually drove the vette down to Amana this morning, though it's not too far from here, around 50 miles. I like Sunday mornings when you have the road pretty much to yourself. Around 10 AM the traffic picks up and I head for home. Early Sunday morning drives have been my thing for, *think*, 40 years or so.

You really don't have to have a reason or destination to go to in order to get behind the wheel and go for a drive. Countless others have done it.

I look for any reason just to drive the vette. Do the drive to no where all the time.

Why own a car and not drive it? Who wants to look back one day on all the memories of LOOKING at it ?! ... Pointless

I have a 30 mile route out in the countryside that I drive whenever I can't somewhere to drive it.

I plan on putting a 100k on it before I am done.

I think that's because the rest of the state is down here in Arizona...
Drive it whenever you can.

Absolutely. My wife says it's cheaper than Prozac. Lol. I just go for a drive now and then. On special weekends we get some track time. Great reason to live in Phoenix. This is an all year car here.
