In my opinion you should pic a tuner and tell them what you want out of the car. Then have a custom ground cam for your particular set up. example my 2003 zo6. I have a vararam intake, lg long tubes no cats. What i did was have a conversation with my tuner. I told him I just want responsiveness and huge jump out of corners. a lot of under the curve power for road racing and mountain driving. But not to completely give up top end power either. I literally said I did not care about a dyno #. He made me a 227/234 .612 .614 112+2 and I love it. Amazing under the curve power. pulls everywhere. it only put down 406 and it is everything that i asked for. so that is my recommendation.

Yes. It worked with the stock ls6 243 heads. Brian tooley .660 valve springs, trunion upgrade, titanium valve seals, hardened pushrods, c5r timing chain, hi vol oil pump. All those things were in a cam kit. Roughly $1400. I also bought racetronix 42lb injectors in case I add heads. But yes. Clearances are fine.

04 Z with Comp. Custom cam 230/236 595/595 0n LSA 112+4 ,new oil pump timing chain TX speed Molly push rods new GM lifters with stock rockers .Kooks long tube headers X-pipe bullet cats GHL muffler's . I did port the stock heads just clean up deal not hard just need port kit and clean them up ,ported T-body after market air cleaner ,about it Tuned LMR Houston TX 440 RWHP TQ about the same @120 mph in 4th gear @5500 will go to 7000 easy ,that was just taking it easy after 4000 RPM rocket ,need to keep red line 65-6800 ,The LS top end motor most power comes 35-4000 RPM fast winding motor had to install shift light lite winds to red line in a flash no time to be looking at tack.. With this set up drive anywhere .The TX speed 28/28 cam I think Bryan Tooley has one also is a good street cam ..I would not go over 236 duration or much over 600 lift if want to drive it on the street 112 LSA is OK but 113 is smother for sure and just need HP GM parts for this kind of build don't need a $350.00 oil pump stock HP parts work good ,I like Bryan Tooley for good info and parts good price will put in the right direction .. I have around 500 Flywheel HP this is all drivable HP you need anything over that is nuts and hard to drive rear tires brake loose way too easy now. Just an FYI

Default Street friendly

https://youtu.be/NoaCJtq00sE

This is my 227/234 .612 .614 112+2. Can literally throttle out of 1500 rpm, zero bucking. Extremely street friendly and just nasty on Laguna Seca. The lobes aren't the super aggressive ones, hence the high lift daily drivability.

Well had a video. Guess the url link isn't going to post

My MS4 cam only 2002 made 438 rwhp. I highly recommend this cam. It's been proven to put the most power down out of an ls1/ls6 and yes it is on the large side as far as cams go for sure but Speedinc tuned it for me and it's s blast to drive, scary fast, and it is streetable after a good tune.

Ms4 is only fun if you are doing pulls on the freeway. Then it's a lot of fun. But it has surge and buck tendencies.

Yes it did feel good to outrun the C-6s they were seven behind me ,I think they are too heavy to run with the C-5-Zs .. MAXX on the forum has a LS-7 427 in his C-5z and is a beast
for sure ... He got one in a crate for around $12,000 a deal ..

We have done a few LS7 swaps into the C5's and they really wake the cars up. More so than HP it's the torque from the 427 that you just will not get from even a good heads/cam package because the displacement isn't there.

A good set of headers, mild cam, and tune with the 427 and you can make 530-550 rwhp easy.

My 04 Z-16 with 230/236 --- 595/595 112+4 STOCK ROCKERS PORTED HEADS Stock heads Headers ETC. 440 RWHP drives great ..Just an FYI.. Hp and Tq. top out at around 6200 and flat lines around 7000 the HP and Tq. just stay the same to 7000 and beyond .... It may be putting out more HP the valves starting to float around 6200 had to change the rockers have not had it retuned scene, no valve float now just pulls to 7000 , on stock bottom enough RPM..

MS4 is a known spring eater/killer, buy the best springs there are for this cam if you decide to run it.
