Youch. Time for upgrades! Been there in the same place a few years back on a buddies 06 GTO. One lifter spun and that was that.

How do you like that Milwaukee battery powered ratchet?

lifter bore looks good. the lifter pulled straight out. Those missing pieces worry me. Im guessing they went straight down into crankcase but look at the opening behind timing chain it could have pop a chunk in there,, either way guess motor is coming out.

Sucks that you had the problem with your engine. Hope there was no other damage done. But if there is a silver lining, great opportunity for some performance mods if your budget allows.

Fourg63 did you replace oil pump? I found 15 of the sixteen roller bearings and I'm sure once I pull the top half of the bat pan I'll find the other bearing and the missing lifter body corner. Yes I got new ls7 lifter with new ls2 trays. Pic updates coming

mine didn't damage that bad.
happened to me twice actually, at 100% stock, i then swapped to caddy racing lifter, didn't do the pump, those failed shortly after. I then replaced the cam again, pump, and went with LS7 lifters. that recipe worked. 70k on those
