I would try elsewhere later on if you are in an area with other reputable tuners - might be worth it and you will be able to make sure the tune is spot on -
However, why in the world would a tuner set-up his Dyno in that manner with all the oil running forward - that makes no sense at all - could lead to oil starvation on the Dyno in higher RPM
It should be on a level surface not jacked up in the rear only, the front should be level with the rear -
Yeah, that looks to be a Dyno Dynamics dyno. They are known as the "heartbreaker dyno". They work differently than Dynojet and Mustang, and as a result ,they show lower peak numbers. There are a lot of articles on the web about these units.
I had my Z06 tuned this summer by James Short of Shortuning. He uses one of these, and the numbers were a bit better than yours, but I have LT's and only 11K mikes on the car, so it will be a little stronger. James said he expected mine to put down somewhere around 340ish on his dyno but it came in at 368.
I'm sure if you put it on another brand Dyno, you will see a big difference. Just keep in mind, it is only a number, if you like the way it runs, don't be bothered.

That's where I had my tune done, by James Short at Shortuning. It does run strong but wouldn't mind more power. I just want to make sure i'm falling in the normal range of what hp these cars make with my few mods.

So he never gave you a copy, and doesn't have it stored on his computer?
No I never got a copy. When I asked him to send me the info this was his reply.
"I sold the old dyno and can't pull anything up but the text documents from the dyno runs. Since I tuned your car I've gotten a new dyno."

I think maybe a complimentary dyno pull is in order to compare the two. You should at least ask......
Yes, he owes you the results. I can't believe someone would be so inept as to not save these files - and not give you a hard copy at the time of the tune. I'm thinking his dyno was having major issues, which is why he purchased a new one, and / or you got yourself a ****** tune.
Just wanted to briefly revive this thread and get some opinions. I was told that the dyno used for my tune read right around 21% lower than a mustang dyno. This was from someone who had experience with the same exact dyno and a mustang dyno. So that would put my car right around 387hp. Is that possible with my mods or is that number a little too optimistic? Thanks

common acceptance is that dynojets read highest and are most popular now w/ many tuners as a result - still its just a number. Mustang brand dynos tend to real lower...and any other brands I am not as familiar with.
387whp sounds bit on the high side for just intake/tune....I may be wrong , but I didn't think shorty headers did much if anything for power...I thought long tubes w/ X pipe is where you see the difference.
FWIW my car piut down 375ish to the wheels w/ vararam & tune on a "notoriously stingy" mustang dyno...so maybe you're in the ballpark w/ that calculation and maybe shorty headers are worth something (they didn't do squat but look good on my LS1 GTO tho - sold 'em on fleabay and got LT's catless)

I don't have any dyno comparisons but i'm sure the shorties may add 5hp at best. Long tubes are def they way to go, thats why I was wondering if the 387 number could be legit. Im getting some lt's and a retune in the near future. Im not worried about putting up the highest numbers because the car runs great, i would just like to give a fairly accurate number if someone asked me how much hp im making.
