Default Dyno tune not what I expected...

First off my car runs great and pulls hard so Im not really concerned with these numbers, just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. My car is an 03z with shorty headers catted x and stock ti axle back. Also have a Vararam cai. My baseline run made 299hp and final pull was 321hp I believe. I know our cars make about 360rwhp bone stock so I was curious if anyone has had a similar experience. The tune was done by a reputable tuner who is notorious for having a very stingy dyno that produces very low numbers. I dont know what kind of dyno it is but I know it isnt a dynojet. Here is a pic of the dyno. Anyone with a similar experience?

Seems very low. I would expect a bone stock Z to pull better numbers. Interested to see what the experts think.....

Very stingy dyno or something is wrong with the car.

My car bone stock made 355whp. With intake, headers, no cats, and tune my car made 392whp.

I'm pretty sure it's the dyno but I don't have any experience with other dynos. The tuner told me before we started that his dyno produced low numbers, I'm not sure why but maybe someone that knows alot about different dyno's can chime in on that.

Could be, they read similar to mustangs. Don't to bent out of shape on the numbers dyno is just a tool

Nah not worried just wondering if there were any other similar stories out there. The car runs great and if it really is only making that much power then it's damn fast for only having 320hp lol

Seems rather low to me.

I dynod my 03Z with shorty headers, "intake", ebay exhaust, "H" removed on mid pipe, cutouts, and was untuned. It put down 388/367 and this is on one of the lowest reading dynos in the DFW metroplex.

The picture of the Dyno sheet I've attached is a 2004 Z06 with nothing more than a Halltech Killer Bee II intake and a tune.

{edit - oops, that's an older one from when it still had the vararam on it}

Yeah ai know the numbers are definately low but I just wonder how much exactly of that is the dyno itself. There is a fairly local shop that has a dyno jet I believe. I will probably try to go there a make a few pulls just to see and make sure there aren't any issues with my car.

Seems messed up. My tuner has a known "stingy" mustang brand dyno, my car put down 375whp w/ nothing but a vararam, ported TB, new plugs/wires/springs and a tune.

I would expect better results, if for nothing more than your piece of mind, at the Dynojet shop. Mine did 583 on a Mustang, and 643 at higher altitude on a Dynojet.

No offense meant but are you sure your car still has an LS6 and not an LS1? Your numbers sound more like an intake/exhaust LS1. Are they 243 heads? Being these cars are 10+ years old it wouldn't surprise me if the original motor could have been replaced by an LS1 at some point. My 03 did 363 rwhp / 354 tq with just the zip tie mod.

I forgot to mention the tuner also told me that he had recently tuned an 04 Z with long tubes and a couple other bolt ons and he only made in the 340's on this particular dyno, if I remember correctly.

Easy to tell; the heads have a casting mark on the right front lower corner showing 243 if they are LS6 (Z06) heads. Pop the hood; passenger side, right at front of head pointing up.
