I know I am ahead of myself, but I was curious about tires for my 1999 Corvette. I've read many perspectives on line. So, Suggestions with reasons why are appreciated. Right now there's Michelin on the vehicle now that are in great shape. But, down the road I will be looking.
This vehicle will be garaged in FL and used for pleasure cruising only.
Also, how about the TPMS?? Any information on the 1999 vehicles would be appreciated.
Thank You

I have a 1999 and have replaced 2 TPMS's. Used schraders and bought them from ROCKAUTO. $75/each As far as tires go, no spare so I'm afraid to go with anything but run flats. Most people are satisfied with Michelins but there are a LOT of different opinions on tires. Research the forum, that topic has been heavily discussed.

I'm running a set of Hankook Ventus V12 EVOs on my car and love them. Very good handling, great ride and very low road noise along with a price of about $600 for a set.
As far as the tire pressure sensors go, I'd say yours are close to the end of their life span. If it were me, I'd replace them the next time you change tires.
When I replace mine which will be soon, I will go with Nitto NT555 Ultra High Performance for their wide tread width, dry/wet handling capability and smooth ride. I have had these before and currently have Kumho Ecsta runflats but I am tired of noisy run flats. The Kumhos are louder than the Goodyear EMT's. Plus it is much easier to plug a non runflat.
Last summer I put on some BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2's on my '98 and I'm happy with them. Love the way they look, and they're quiet and handled well in the rain the few times I was caught out in it. Excluding shipping the cost was $594 through Tire Rack; shipping was another ~$60.

I have Michelin Sport Pilots on my '99. You can't beat them!
I went with non-run flats a couple of years ago - Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. Had run flat Michelins before and they were okay but the non-run flats are better - smoother, better feel. I keep an inflator in the car and a AAA card in my wallet. Replaced the TPMS when I changed the tires. If yours are original they have served their time and should be given their honorable discharge.
Well, yes, actually probably more important with non-run flats.
To me it seems more important with run flats. On run flat tires they look the same at normal pressure or zero pressure so there is no visual clue. I have to check them with a gage before most drives and it is inconvenient
On non run flat tires I generally look at the tires as I am walking up to the car and it is noticeable when they get low. I still check them with a gage periodically, but don't need to every time since you can see a low or flat tire.
Really up to what you like...I have run Michelins, BFG, Bridgestones, Firestones and Nitto's all were good quality and did a great job. I have replaced tpms in some from forum vendors and sometimes not. I mostly use non run flat tires...much better ride to me.
I put C6 wheels and tires on my 99, didn't swap over the sensors. But this winter, when I get the new tires, I'm putting the sensors on the wheels. I like being able to check tire pressures with the touch of a button.
But I may do the conversion to the newer sensors and controllers.
