Default Help with Diagnostic Codes :-)

In another thread I am the OP asking about a smelly exhaust.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ed-advice.html

I was asked to by members to retrieve the codes which I did below. I did not delete any in case I had to go back and read them. I figured out the "H" is History and the "C" is Current. Whoo Hooo :-)

10-PCM P0719 HC

58-SDM B1001 H

AO-LDCM B2282 H
B2284 H
U1064 H

A1-RCDM B2283 H
B2285 H
U1064 H

BO-RFA U1255 H
U1096 H
U1064 H
U1016 H

Let's start with the current code:

DTC P0719 Brake Switch Circuit Low Input
Circuit Description
The brake switch indicates brake pedal status to the powertrain control module (PCM). The brake switch is a normally-closed switch that supplies battery voltage on circuit 420 to the PCM. Applying the brake pedal opens the switch, interrupting voltage to the PCM. When the brake pedal is released, the PCM receives a constant voltage signal. If the PCM receives a zero voltage signal at the brake switch input, and the torque converter clutch (TCC) is engaged, the PCM de-energizes the TCC solenoid valve. The PCM disregards the brake switch input for TCC scheduling if there is a brake switch circuit fault (Refer to Diagnostic Aids).
When the PCM detects an open brake switch circuit (0 volts, low input) during accelerations, then DTC P0719 sets. DTC P0719 is a type D DTC.

The other codes appear to be associated with a low battery. Was the battery recently replaced? I'd reset them.

Here is a link with 2 FSM guides for how to replace and adjust.

If you need info on removing the Knee Bolster try this:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-a-how-to.html

Get your switch at any auto store, dealer, or Gene at Cultrag.com who is a Forum vendor here. They will all know what part you need.

With regard to codes you need to know they will almost all show as H if you pull them AFTER you turn the engine OFF.

Delete them all since that is all they are and you can't extract any more info from them.

Go for a drive and then pull them BEFORE you turn the ignition OFF. If you have any DIC messages you will need to Reset /Clear them to pull the codes.

I cleared all the codes then took the car for a 1/2hr ride. Brought up the codes while the car was running. No Codes at all. I also tried bringing up the codes after I shut the car off. No Codes.

That's a good thing :-)

The 10-PCM P0719 HC Code Returned the other day. I live in North Port, FL. Any suggestions where to get the switch replaced? Chevrolet Dealer or Corvette Specialist?

What's the estimated cost to replace the switch? I'd like to have an idea of a ballpark price.

Thanks :-)

This is a simple thing to do. You just remove the Knee Bolster and then replace and adjust the switch. I gave you all the info you need.

If not, then I would find a specialist that knows C5s.

I am sure all years are the same. Gene at Cultrag can confirm you get the right one.

My parts book goes from 97-02 and says they are all the same but has P/N 11516210 but that does not mean what you found is wrong.
