Default Zaino question

I purchased an '02 Z recently and the previous owner (also original owner) said that he used only Zaino products on it since new and it had many coats of Zaino.
My question is, if I want to use a wax product instead of Zaino, do I have to do anything to remove the Zaino or can I just wax over it?
Thanks!

Depends how **** you are

May want to post this in the Care Care forum, but I've read guys intentionally "wax" over Zanio so I don't think any harm.

Could start all over and wash the car with an aggressive detergent like Dawn Liquid soap, claybar, and then start your "waxing" process...

Zanio is great stuff...only available on line, a little pricey compared to the stuff at AutoZone, Walmart, but last a good long time and using clear seal topped with Z8 is amazing....

Good Luck...

You can wax right over the Zaino. But if I was you, I'd keep using Zaino, it's good stuff. I've used Zaino for a very long time, here is a picture of a freshly coat of it last fall. Notice the depth and reflection of Zaino

I second the stick with the Zaino. If it's got a good base on the car already then cost will be minimal and it'll last a LONG freaking time.

I too would recommend staying with Zaino.

Waxing over Zaino won't hurt anything but will probably not do much good either as it would not bond very well. If switching to wax, I would remove the Zaino first.

I would recommend staying with Zaino. You can probably wax over it but I would remove it first if going with another brand. Zaino works well and bonds the best with other Zaino products like the Z6 and Z8 spray. I don't see the point in switching though. Zaino is top quality, it is durable, long lasting, and has great depth of shine. Applying is very easy to.

I would also say stay with zaino. If it has that many coats on all it talks is a little maintanence of gloss enhancer or z8 and a microfiber cloth. I usually put two coats of z2 and then the rest of the summer is just the z6 or z8 detailer. Deep black is awesome and zaino is great for black.
