Default Another Question - headlights,

To get the headlights to retract, I have to turn the lights all the way off. Any way to make the headlights go down when I turn to from headlights on to mid position on the switch - headlights off, but parking lights on? As it is, they go out but do not retract.

To explain, when the weather is not too good, I run with the parking lights on, and the fogs on - I can be seen more easily by other drivers that way. Now, if I have to turn the heads on due to rain (must do when wipers are full on), and then the rain eases, I want to retract the heads and go back to parking/fogs on - preferably without having to turn everything off and on again.

A complete "nit", but has anyone cracked this one?

p.s. due to (a) El Nino, or (b) global warning, according to your belief system, we are awash in rain right now. Better than the snow which we would be having if our temps were not abnormally high, but it does make for very messy driving conditions.

Just turn your light switch to the parking light position first. do not turn them all the way to on. This will let you keep the headlights down and off and let you use the fog lights with the parking lights. Do this all the time at dusk or when full headlights are not required.

Once you turn the lights all the way on, you have to turn them all the way off to get the lights to go down.

Your lights are behaving as they are supposed to.

I only wish there was a way to pop the lights up (for maintenance) without having other (e.g. marker) lights remain on, like when you turn the switch on all the way and then back off one position. Unless I'm just missing something? My Miata has a button on the dash to raise and lower the lights without turning them on.

My MR2 had that same type of switch. I was hoping for a way to raise the vette lights in a similar fashion for cleaning and maintenance. So far I have found no such option.
