Default Getting Steering Wheel Straight

I'm using my tech 2 to center my SWPS at 0.

When I get it to read (0) the steering wheel is not straight.

It's a little crooked to the right. About 10 o'clock.

What am I missing?

How do I keep the steering wheel straight and the SWPS centered?

Thanks,

ROCK

Probably a wheel alignment.

Adjust your tie rods? One side in, the other side out, both the same number of turns.

Guys, you don't understand what he is saying. The position of the wheels has nothing to do with it.

When the Tech 2 is at zero the steering wheel should not be left or right of center.

Was the steering wheel removed and maybe not put back centered?

Default I got it

Thanks for the replies.

The steering rack had been removed. I was getting the TCS 1288 code.

When I was checking the SWPS with the tech 2 it showed a digital readout and an analog readout. For some reason I chose to watch the digital readout. That was last night with the reading (0) and the steering wheel was off. Today I decided to watch the analog readout and sure enough when the reading was (0) the steering wheel was straight. No more codes or messages.

Thanks,

ROCKnROLL

I have been told that prior to 2001 the SWPS was pure analog. Glad your resolved it.
