OK I got My new Corbeau Seats installed last Night...My car had full electric seats..driver and passenger ...1 & 2 Memory settings...I changed out the seats...but now the Steering Wheel does not Telescope so I assume it is tied all in with the seats...??? or could something else be wrong...???
So Does This Mean now with the New Corbeau Seats Installed the Airbag will not Work in a Crash....I have no Warning lights at all on system...just noticed the Steering wheel did not Telescope
From what i know...the air bag will go off , but because it doesnt have the seat position sensor from your oem seat it will deploy at the air bag at max pressure. Putting an aftermarket seat into a car is a big change not to be taken lightly. I have only seen people do it for track days not on daily drivers. Just be aware that your oem safety system was designed and tested for accidents with oem seats. Most people also believe leave your oem system stock or go 100% and do seat/5 or 6 point harnesses/roll bar or cage. You may have safety issues when you mix and match.
Bottomline is...do whatever you are comfortable with.

The telescoping function goes through the driver Seat Control Module. Without the module it won't work.
So does this mean the airbag will just go off with normal driving
No, he just means that there will be no modulation of deployment speed or pressure due to seat position. Don't panic and scare yourself to death here. It will not deploy unless your are in a frontal collision that meets the parameters designed to activate it.
If your seat was all the way forward it will deploy at 50psi....all the way back at 150psi.
Not real numbers here....just using them to illustrate the point....i have no idea on the pressure/ speed the airbags deploy but it depends on your seat position.
I dont know...sorry. i really wouldnt overthink it...being comfortable in your seat and aware is probably the best safety you can have in avoiding accidents.
Well I always drive the car with the seat all the way back....main thing I guess is that it will still work in a accident... If it deploys at max psi at any speed guess that's better then not at all

Pappy,
I certainly cannot give you an answer, but this something I would like to eventually document for others and if I can, offer at least a partial resolution to the issue. Will take me a while to do, since I am working hard on an OBD2 program right now.
If you do not get a resolution to the issue, PM me and let me see what I can do.
Well we all know the stock seats are not the best...so many folks are looking to change out seats..this is a very popular mod...but no where I saw anything about the airbag feature or steering wheel..I understand how the airbag system works...speed and were your seat is...but as long as the system will work in case of a accident.... I think vetteworks sells a simulator for the steering wheel I am OK with the airbag ....i drive all the way back in the seat anyway...so I think anything you can come up with would be great info for everyone
If you search "Corbeau A4 Install (Holy Crap!!!)" you will find over 400 posts on the subject.
My recollection is that if you take the seat module from the original driver seat and plug it in under the new A4, the steering column will work, but check the above.
