[QUOTE=8VETTE7;1591241852]LMC5 is easy to check for in the Passenger Foot well. On the Compliance web site they have pictures of an LMC5.

If Variation 04006C was done then you will hear a soft bzzzzt coming from under the plastic cover of the steering column when you insert the key and just begin to turn it to the ON position. That is the lock motor retracting the lock pin.

CLB can be checked for but it requires dropping the drivers side knee bolster and looking for the small electrical box. Not worth the effort IMHO.

If it were me I would just get an LMC5 and install it (if it has not already been done) and not worry about what else may have been done......

No bzzzzzz and I don't think this is the lmc5 module

If you begin getting "Pull key and wait....." messages after the LMC5 install you need to do the brown wire mod to stop the messages.....

Got it thanks

I don't see it so my best guess is that a CLB has been installed.

CLB's work fine until you have water back up in the passenger foot well due to plugged rubber udders on the wiper well drains. Then the column lock relay is is likely to get wet and fail. Additionally with the CLB a low battery condition will likely fry the column lock relay and cause the 2mph fuel shutoff to occur. Here is a pic of a fried CLR due to low battery:

The major advantage of the LMC5 is that it abandons all column lock components downstream of the BCM because it connects directly ar the BCM.

Here is a link to info about plugged rubber udders if you have not already read it:

Sounds like the lmc5 is fool proof for the most part
