You will notice a difference, should be a nice jump is hp. All those mods along with a tune I would expect a big difference. But you should get the headers for sure as well, if they are legal in your state. That is a nice chunk of hp you would be losing out on if you cant get the headers.

You're in IL, then you should be fine with headers man! You'll need cats for sure but like the guys above have stated, without headers you are missing out on a big part of a built LS1! I bought my C5 from a dealership in Colorado with headers, although they had to weld on cats and tune it to pass emissions……. and your cam should be small enough to be emissions friendly even with the headers. Ask a local performance shop in the area to be sure!

What to expect? No surprise, lower reliability, lower resale value and you'll have less money in your pocket!

You do know the highest mileage c5 to date is modified right? Been modded since 2001 and now has well over 500k on it with no issues

If I was worried about resale value I would not have bought my modded c5 and then modded it more.
Head/cam with a refreshed valve train should be more reliable and more fun!

Let me guess, it's a $12,000 car that the owner has $30,000 invested in. He works on it weekly, has his own lift and it has no issues because the mail order parts are frequently replaced
Multiple clutches or transmissions to accommodate power adders.
Multiple brake changes to make it stop from 190mph.
Multiple suspension changes so it goes around corners.
Wrong size wheels and tires to make it roll better and screw up the active handling system.
Loud exhaust to get owner attention and traffic tickets (and annoy neighbors)
Lots of new lights, chrome and stripes that appeal to kids and ricers.

The OP asked what to expect. Expect to create a money pit that will boost your ego and waste your money or consider another option. Leave it alone (unmolested)and drive a well designed well performing car for a long time with little expense

No, he's rebuilt the trans twice. For an automatic that's insane, the stock power level in an auto is enough to destroy a 4l60e after 250k miles.

C599 is his name here, cool guy, not afraid to drive the car anywhere. You need to get over yourself, he bought his car new, did his mods, and has done nothing but maintain it since.

My car has been modded for 40k miles almost, nothing but a stock knock sensor failing due to the oil grommet coming off and a headlight stalk.

You must have used garbage parts on your mods back in the day. A well built car is as reliable as stock.

You sound like you are talking about my car but I'm sure I have more than that in it as I did take out my motor with a sc, then the trans with the new 383 and sc, and I don't do my own work as I don't have the time, but I ain't getting dissed by a new Camaro or Mustang. modding is no more of a money pit to me than buying a car new and loosing thousands of dollars the second you leave the lot! Ego? Yes, if you say so! All I know is I bought it to have fun... as a toy, not transportation! and it is way more fun knowing not much is going to out accelerate it. 350 hp is not too special anymore! I've seen people who say in their for sale adds for vettes "no wot runs", I always think wow...how boring, what the hay did they buy a Vette for?

Oh to op not sure on your mods, but the 342 and stall was the best place to start with a a4, now you are ready for any kind of power adder, but be careful if you can't afford to fix with the a4, it is a week link even at stock hp as pointed out!

No extra chrome but I do have a spoiler!
