are you sure you aren't confusing them with the 555r?... a lot of people seem to have decent success with the drag radial version but I don't see the regular 555 talked about too often... I had a set of 555r's on my old trans am and they were ok, not great but not bad either

hmm I haven't personally run across many threads discussing the 555... I have invos up front and nt05r's out back and that combo works well for me... I wouldn't want invos out back personally... regular nt05's would probably be a better choice if you don't want a drag radial... another thing to take into consideration is that many people don't drive their cars that hard at all so the raving reviews they give may only be accounting for cruising around town and on the highway and not under hard acceleration or high speeds

Yep. But I think even considering the price and thread life, I still wouldn't recommend the tire, even if you were never ever going to get on the gas. It's really that bad. Just pulling on to the main road in the morning my tail gets a bit squirrely, with maybe 1/4 throttle at most. Certain road surfaces in the rain, I just spin the rears if I try accelerating slowly from a stop.
