I have a 2003 coupe, that has all of a sudden started throwing a "10-PCM P0128" code, only in the morning when it is cold (around freezing or below). From what I have found, this is to signal a possible stuck thermostat. If the thermostat was sticking, wouldn't it throw the code all the time? The thermostat, stock 185 degree, was replaced with the water pump in Nov 2014.
If the temperature sensor is going out, could this also throw this code? I have 107k miles on the car, so I am expecting to start replacing various sensors now.
There are other codes associate with the ECT sensor too.
P0117 Engine Coolant Temp (ECT) Sensor Low Voltage
P0118 Engine Coolant Temp (ECT) Sensor High Voltage
P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Excessive Time to Closed Loop Fuel Control
