Looks like lots of miles of smiles will be headed your way. Nice head turner you got there. Is this your second Vette, the first being the 96?

Car had 28778 miles when it came off the truck and I added another 5 miles for the drive home and into the garage. I do not have title yet so it will stay in the garage until it arrives and then off to get emissions checked and then then to AZ MVD for Level 2 inspection and then finally for title and registration.

I will be doing the Ranger method on the clutch today. Brake fluid will be next, but need an assistant and have it on jackstands. Got to finish making the wood supports first.

This is actually my 5th Corvette: have had an '81, two '96 CE LT4s, one '95 and now this 2004, I still have a '96 and just sold the '81 on Jan 1. This is my first 'vert though, never liked driving with the targa roof panel off of any of the C4s I had....too much movement!!!

Guess I should go get busy, first thing is to take the battery and battery tray out and look for acid damage.

Going to have to do something about those stock mufflers though...waaaaaay to quiet!

See ya.

Let me add to the congrats....you'll love the 'vert. You'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner. Doesn't keep the fluffy rain out though here in MT.

Struts are easy to do. Pop them off...pop them on. I did mine by carefully using a flat blade screwdriver to remove the clips but this can also be done by leveraging them off as the clips are spring loaded. Suggestion: do the trunk ones at the same time.

Struts....I did not see any struts to hold up the top compartment lid....I gotta go take another look....struts are easy to do.

Did find another not so good problem....the right side exhaust piping between the cat and the joint to the over-axle section has two splits in it. One about 8", other 6". Not sure if I can weld the splits closed or may be time to drop alot of $$$$ on a cat back system.

And now for a somewhat dumb question....what octane does the LS1 require? I did not get an owner's manual or any type of manual. My '96 LT4 requires 92 min.

Brakes and clutch are bleed, rust removed from rotors...well not from the cooling vanes... brake pads look fine.

No luck on getting the power mirror pins yet...still working on that. About ready to remove the dash pad to get the HUD out and see if it can be fixed. Have read alot on the HUD repairs....hope I can fix mine.

Took battery and battery tray out....no acid damage...just leaves and sand...came from Ft. Myers, FL......ended-up removing the aft access panel from both front fenders so I can clean eveything out.

Appreciate all the comments and help....keep them coming for awhile.

Run top tier premium for best results and for cheap insurance put an acid absorbing mat under the battery for about 5 bucks.
