[QUOTE=LannyL81;1591410160]Struts....I did not see any struts to hold up the top compartment lid....I gotta go take another look....struts are easy to do.
Struts are kinda buried...once you find them they are obvious. Best thing is to open trunk and look either to left or right up above the wheel well. If I remember I replaced mine from inside the trunk.
If you would like I can send pics of mine tonight PST sometime.
Get someone to hold up the top tonneau cover while you change the struts. It's a lot heavier than it looks and when you remove one strut, it will try to close very rapidly. Get the right length struts and they do pop off and on like hood struts. Make sure you are changing the ones up under the fender. The trunk struts are back there too. You also have hood struts, for a total of 6.
I don't believe I have ever seen this color combo...excellent! Just one thing to add to this post...Corvettes are easy to work on as they did not engineer the backyard mechanic out. With the exception of being on your knees on most projects they are a dream to work on. Wishing you many happy miles/smiles with your new (to you) Corvette convertible (vert). Greetings, Rob
