I would be worried that if you try to sell a car that does not have original paint, your future buyers may be a little suspicious. Suspicious about previous accidents, bad paint job (since its not factory), unoriginal part, insurance problems, etc... Plus as stated above, you will never make the money back. This is a very expensive project. Just my .02
No way would I paint a stock car, or a black one. Black has the highest resell value.
I hate the color of mine... if it was stock I would sell it in a second and get a different color.
If I had bought the car brand new and got tired of the color I might paint it. But no way would I pant some used stock corvette when I could just sell it and get another one a different color and be out nothing.
I am thinking about wrapping mine. I am so tired of the green.
I have close to $30,000 in mods on my car over the base cost of the car.
I might paint it next year just cause it is cheaper then building a new car.
I liked the color 4 years ago when I bought it. I hate it today.
Should have waited till I found a black one.
Did you want a black car at first and then you decided you wanted yellow? Just seems easier to have got an yellow car from the get go.
I looked around for a yellow one and couldn't find a decent one within my price range I wanted to pay so I found this one at a decent price and transformed it

I only did it this way because I am never planning to sell the car. It will go to my daughter when I'm long gone, She loves it now just the way it is. So it's making me happy now and will make her happy later on in life too. I know that customizing a car depreciates the value but this is not a highly collectible car right now as far as high dollars go. but as I stated earlier, that's the price you pay for making the car just the way that you want it. Completely to your likings. after all, I'm the only one who has to like it, and believe me the compliments and looks that I get from it show that a lot of others like it too...which make me even more happy.
