Default Color change?

I have owned a black/black 2001 coupe for five years. It is a 6 speed manual and has been a great car and I really like it. It is mostly stock with only a few personal mods-cat back/shift ****/chrome lug nuts/painted calipers. The paint is a 8/10 and interior is excellent.

I have been thinking about selling it and going with a different color, just for a change. This is the only reason I would sell this car.

Has anyone done this same thing? Any regrets? Happy you did it? Opinions?

Why sell it if you are still happy with it and it runs well. (And, presumably, it's paid for) ?

Cheaper to actually paint a different color, or if you want something undo-able, search the C7 section for "wraps".

I would wrap it, much cheaper and if you get bored with it you can take it off.

Nothing comes close to black on black on black to me. But if you need a change how about powder coating your wheels a cool color (or anodizing like red!?). What color would you want...?

Default Just painted mine a different color

Bought my "99 vert a few years ago and after spending all the dough to fix this and that and making it just a fantastic running and performing car the last thing to do was "change the color" like yours , mine was triple black too. With living in the So. Cal. High Desert, black wasn't a very desert friendly color with all the winds and dust and such it was almost impossible to keep clean longer than a few hours at most, So I went with a complete color change to mellenium yellow, a very friendly desert color and I personally think that yellow vettes just look awesome "In My Opinion" So...here is the difference it made to mine, Hope this helps you decide on what to do for yours.

O.K., so now, Yes I put some serious cash into this vette, but I know exactly what I have and just how everything works, unlike if you buy another vette, You have to start all over again...Just more headaches in the long run ...Just my opinion. CorvetteBob

Wrapping it will not decrease the value like a color change will.

wow , looks like they did a good job on the paint, I cant imagine how much that set you back along with all the other yellow themed mods.

Being that you are happy with the car and enjoying it, I would just get a wrap or get the car painted a different color. I personally love black, especially when clean it looks amazing. You stated the paint is about 8/10 so thats great condition. There are many different things you can do to change things up on your C5 from new/different color wheels, adding a spoiler or splitter, hood, interior, just depends if your into that type of thing.

How about a nice decal package such as 2004 corvette commemorative edition!?
I also have a triple black '03 vert and think about it, but common sense prevails..lol. Rob

Yes, it did drain my bank account a bit, $11,300 for the original purchase of the car then about another $16 K getting it to the way it is now. So the math comes out to around 27K to 28K into it so far. I know that The car would never sell for close to what I have into it but that's the price you pay for getting to drive something that you customize to your likings and get to drive around for all the world to see. I get compliments everywhere I go with it, Oh... and the girls love it too, That never happened to me before, Im kinda liking the attention its getting. Makes me realize that it was all worth every penny I put into her. BTW... Im still not finished with her, she still needs black and yellow sport seats, among some other small detail things too.

CorvetteBob52 your vette looks amazing. Well worth the cost if you really love it.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. It definitely will give me something to think about until spring comes around.

I have always liked the 03 Anniversary model with anniversary package-with the special red paint and shale interior. Just don't know if it worth the bucks.

Does anyone know what a coupe in really nice condition is worth/real world market value. What kind of pricing have you seen?

Did you want a black car at first and then you decided you wanted yellow? Just seems easier to have got an yellow car from the get go.

If you keep the car you have you have great history. Black vettes are really cool.
