and you base this off of what? Have you used both shifters?
the MGW (for me and my personal experience) is great for both DD, Racing... Little to no effort, short, fast, precise shifts.... Literally slips into 3rd on its own... It's that nice!!

My MGW was of the first generation and I found navigating to the 1-2 and 5-6 gates required effort that I'd consider making DD a real chore.
Playing in the mountains uses 2-3 shifts most of the time, so it was easy enough.
Every one in a while I'd end up in 4th looking for 2nd.
Gonna try the stock unit for a while to see if I'll like that.

Yea the MGW is perfect for everything and very well balanced.. I've driven both and I agree with what the other guy said, except the mgw can be used for racing too, the Hinson is just shorter. But mgw feels so much better and smoother, just longer throws(but still much shorter than stock)

I own an MGW and use it in my '04 Z06. I wasn't implying that the Hinson is better, not by a long shot. Nor was I implying that an MGW couldn't be used for drag racing. Having tried both, (a friend of mine has the Hinson) the Hinson shifter has much shorter throws, but the effort is significantly increased. It also sits about 3 inches higher than my MGW with a C6 topper. Shorter isn't always better, and I like the look and feel of my MGW far more than that of the Hinson. So everyone just settle down.

how is MGW for regular driving or maybe autocross? Seems it is focused more on those hitting drag strip and dont want to have to work that hard when driving in traffic...hahaha
It is better from every aspect of driving the car, more control, more effort but not annoyingly so, more precision, more precise/positive feel, you feel much more of a direct connection to the transmission (and you should - you realize why while doing the install)
I have the newest MGW design w/ lower box and their gripper **** and I am SOOOOOO happy w/ it - one of, if not THE best mods for a C5 $ for $.
To put it in dumbed down terms - it basically makes the C5Z shifter feel like the best Honda shifter on steroids.
