Here's my old C5 with competition gray C6 wheels, you'll need wheel adapters on the rear so they don't sit too far in the fender wells, at least 3/4 inch adapters (not spacers) though I had 1 and 1/4 inch adapters on mine and liked the look
Can those wheels be bought as you show, or did you paint them?
So if I'm committed to putting base C6 wheels on a C5, it's better to find wheel adapters (not spacers), correct? Any wheel spacer brands/models I should look at in particular? (price is a concern)
If you are going to use wheel adapters, I would look for one made in the USA. Remember those are now what hold the wheels onto the car.
The ones made in China may claim to be made of the same aluminum alloy as those made in the USA but I personally don't trust that to be true. JMHO
If you run spacers and not adapters, you are going to need longer wheel studs on the rear if you plan to use more than a 1/4" spacer. Installing replacement studs is a PIA in my opinion on the C5.....
Based on what I've read, I'll need 1" or 1 1/4" adapters (depending on how much you want the wheels to stick out). Does this sound correct? I definitely want to avoid grinding studs.
Also, are the adapters only needed for the rear wheels?
I got mine from Fred Goeske....http://wheeladapter.com/ He is Not The Cheapest but came recommended as The Best....My C6 Wheels have a Cut out behind each spoke...so My stock studs did not have to be cut....3/4" Adapter...No Issues....

This is what you need for the rear wheels, not needed for the front
These are 25mm or approx. 1" thick
