Hi Chas, can't stay away from a Vette? I thought you needed a back seat or are you keeping the Challenger too? IMO, keep to the C5. Simply because C4's are much harder getting in and out of, with that wide and high door sill. Not as roomy and no trunk, less power and rougher ride. C&C's are starting soon, probably will see you soon. Good luck in your search, Jeff. BTW, if you might like a cheap '03 Z06 with cosmetic problems contact the service manager at Norman Gale. He has one he needs to get rid of. Desperately needs paint. They have a body shop!

Thanks Jeff! Yes, keeping the Challenger, still need that back seat! Do you know anything else about that Z? I would LOVE to get back into one. How is their paint shop?
Hope to see you soon, and let's have good weather for Father's Day this year?

They've done some paint work on my car and filled the Z's original antenna hole when I wanted to get rid of the antenna. It looks so much better now.

Default First Decision made!

Hi folks, well, I drove an '01 C5 with 135k miles today and felt like I was HOME! Big difference for me from a C4. I was amazed that a car with that many miles could run and drive that well!
So I'm definitely in it for a C5, manual and flexible on the body style.

Here's the car I drove, he's a fellow club member of mine.

Hi folks, I've decided that because of my budget, I need to look at earlier cars, and I'm very interested in that green one in Laurel, Md. I drove that blue Z with the rough body. Drove great but the cost of paint is so high that I would not end up any better than buying one in better condition.

Get the best car you can afford because you will put more money into the cheaper cars, ending up with an older car for the same money.

If you don't mind sharing your budget limit with us, we'll help you look. Good deals pop up everywhere and anywhere. I see good deals on C5s here in OKC and other places regularly but never mention it to anyone as I've already got one. The folks here are pretty helpful and can even look at cars for you then report back. GL...

Welcome back, here are a few tips of mine

Don't compromise. Get exactly what you want. Travel to get the car of your dreams if you have too. Don't be too concerned about high mileage. Be sure the car has maintenance records. Take whatever budget you think you can afford and add 5 % to that because a good car may be in your budget, but a great car could be just outside your budget.
Good Luck. The right car for you is out there.

Thank you all, so many familiar names keep popping up!
My budget is $15000, with as Bill advises, a +5% 'adjustment fee".
