Hi All
I am in Australia and need some help on replacing my clutch on my C5 manual LS1 right hand drive. Given I am putting out more hp can anyone give me some advise on a good reasonably priced clutch kit. I believe current is original as car has only done 70,000 kms. Also, approx cost to be fitted. Thanks Grant.
I do believe the Mantic line of clutches is made in Australia. I run a Mantic single disc on my supercharged C5. I think I paid $750 for the clutch, but I installed it myself. Not sure how much it would cost to have it installed, maybe $1000. Of course, those prices are US dollars.

if you can afford a twin disc do it but they will run around $1000, maybe more depending on the brand... I personally use an act twin and it has been great so far... mcleod rxt and mantic 9000 are pretty popular as well and seem to only get positive reviews... as stated above you can probably tack on another $1000 for install on top of what the parts cost... I would also recommend a new oem slave, pilot bearing, remote bleeder if you don't have one, and it would also be a good time to inspect the torque tube and do some upgrades to the drivetrain... this is called the snowball effect
I'll throw in my support for the RST twin disc. I chose that one with a Fidanza lightweight aluminum flywheel. The combination is rated for 800lb ft of torque. It can also be rebuilt as an RXT if needed later for about $400. Driving experience is that this combo is lighter and easier than stock at the clutch pedal.
I've been making 343 to the wheels, but am finishing my SC install this winter and expect 550 to 600. I planned ahead when I did the clutch and also went with poly torque tube bushings. Six shooter was the model name. I also slapped on the pfadt transmission mount (eliminates wheel hop) and will soon be adding the ECS brace to reduce chance of grenading trans/rear.
i think the type of clutch greatly depends on how much hp your vette is making?? and what your end goal's for the car?? more streetable or something that is more track usable

the reason I suggested a twin is because his car is already supercharged... we all know the power can be added pretty easy with that type of setup so if you're going to do the clutch I would personally put one in that leaves you some room to grow in the future... especially if you are paying for labor because you don't want to have to pay for that job twice if you can avoid it
I live in Adelaide and we have some awesome country/hill roads. Putting out 520rwhp it's good to give it a belt. Unfortunately only got it to 160kns in 3rd so I'm pretty confident the 300 kph speedo would be tested.
