So I just spent 850 dollars in repairs on my 98 Vette it needed a high pressure power steering hose oil sending unit front breaks and belts.....well now when im driving from time to time for example say im going 60 the car will kinda surge or feel like its going to die....i have only had the car a month and clearly it sat for awhile its only got 74k on it.....what could be causing this it doesnt happen all the time its random....should I replace the spark plugs and wires or maybe the fuel filter?

Fuel filter or fuel pump perhaps . . .the latter gets pricey . . .

Pull the codes.

Could be a fuel delivery problem or something as simple as plugs and wires. Always check the easiest things first. Or take it back to the place that did the repairs and tell them its not running right and have them look at it.

I agree on pulling the codes and see if any are present. Could also be a clogged fuel filter, dirty injectors, fuel pump going bad, or other potential problems. May want to get a competent mechanic to take a look at the car if you can't figure it out. Good luck.

To pull codes with the engine running you need to use the reset button to clear all messages displayed in the DIC (nothing can be displayed in the DIC) and then pull codes as normal.

Some codes disappear when the engine is turned off and MOST will change from C to H once the engine is off.
Will do! Might go driving around until it does it so I can see what it says! Makes me worry

Might try some sea foam, or some injector cleaner.

So how many miles have you driven the car? Have you run a tank or two of gas through it? Might be the fuel has been in there too long.

Try Cleaning your Mass Airflow Sensor Wires

Don't break them.

Spray with Carb Cleaner and let dry

It maybe a Vacuum leak, the intake manifold has to be removed to replace the Oil pressure sending unit.

no need to worry. You will need to look at possible causes and start checking them.....could it be electrical: battery connection, spark plugs or wires, some sensor....could it be fuel related: bad fuel, fuel injection....etc. If you can't track it down...start researching local mechanics and you may have to take it to somebody. Maybe get in touch w your local vette club....many times they know somebody they trust to work on their vettes that is honest. You will get it sorted it out....no worries.

The manifold was replaced last week when the oil sending unit was replaced
