Default Coolant gauge problem

I don't no if this is a problem or not. But has anyone with an auto used the 123D shifting mode and had the coolant gauge go over 220 degrees to about 235 and then come back down when you drive on regular D?

I would think driving the car in a lower gear= higher rpms also lower speed you would see temps go up.when you put the car in drive though temps should go down less rpms and you create more air flow.

I see you've posted 2 times so you must be fairly new here. One of the problem areas on C5s is the radiator and the "bottom-feeder" approach that GM used on it. The air dam in the front directs air up and you'd be surprised at what you'll find stuck up there. Highly recommended you take a few minutes and take a look-see. Your problem might be that its packed with some various dirt/grass/leaves/trash etc and because of this, it exacerbates (how long since you've used that word?) the temp issue you've described. Either way, it's a good idea and it'll only cost you a few minutes of your time. If it's dirty, you'll need a few more minutes to clean it out. Also, we always implore new members to post pics of their ride so we can all enjoy. GL!!

Thanks for the help guys. Yea I figured having it at higher Rpms would make the temp fluctuate, ill make sure to also clean out the air duct at the bottom so it can breath better
