Guys,
I'm struggling with my passenger window not going down. I started working for a few weeks when the temps were real cold but since it warmed back up its locked up again. I have tried tapping the mount on the inside of the handle but its not moving
I have a track day coming up and the passenger window has to be able to go down during this event or they wont let me on the track.
Pretty common prob. Mine did it, the dealer replaced all the stuff in the door under war. long time ago. Worked for awhile then started doing it again. I would just keep pounding on the door handle , wiggling window while pressing button. It would always eventually start working again. I saw a post on here that the prob. could be caused by the motor jamming in the up pos. because the window would slam into the stop in the up pos. So I started just easing up on the button as the window reached the top never letting it slam into the full up pos. It has worked fine for many years now using that technique. Hope this might help you! Good luck. PS. Only on the pass. side.
There is a posted fix. It consists of removing the small bung in the door, under the latch. Have a helper turn the key ON, and operate the passenger side window control, while YOU tap on a screwdriver with a hammer. The blade of the screwdriver will be on the end of the relay that is visible inside the small opening in the door. Bang on the screw driver, while operating the window control until it works. Replace door bung and you are done. (NOTE: ensure that the screwdriver is on the metal relay and not on the fiberglas door, or you will probably perforate the door skin.)
Disclaimer: I have tried this and it worked for me. Your results may differ!
