So for the last 3 weeks I have been having issues with my car randomly surging or what feels like its gasping for air. At first I only noticed this when driving... sometimes when I'm going 60 my RPMs are around 1500 and other times at over 2000 when it gets over 2000 it starts feeling like its going to die or needs air....then today when stuck at a light it did it again feeling like it needs air....could this be the TPS?

Hmmm. The very first thing I would do is pull any codes from your dash ( though you've probably done this.) The next thing I would check are the vacuum lines. There may be a small leak that developed suddenly.

I'm betting it's one of the vacuum lines then. I had a similar situation on my '00 vert. Hopefully it's a minor fix.
Ive only had this car a little over a month and its been nothing but a headache... hopefully its something simple some days it does it bad other days it doesnt do it at all
I had the same problem a while back.... turns out I had a small tar in the short piece of rubber hose that connects the pcv valve to passenger side of the intake right behind the throttle body.

Don't give up on it yet. C5's are great cars, but many are showing their age. Just needs a little TLC.

You may want to check it out.
The guy who worked on my car said he had ordered that hose and when i called to tell him I was having this issue told me that the hose wouldnt cause any issues other than idle now im questioning him

Trust me.... it took me 1.5 weeks to find out what that little problem was. I was about ready to shoot her and put her out of its misery !!

Its frustrating bc they keep saying it just needs a fuel filter I really dont think thats the issue! Im taking it back to get it looked at and watch the car wont do it bc thats just my luck
The don't simply appear by themselves in the DIC window.
Thirdly, as suggested by several last week, it sounds like either a failing fuel pump, bad filter or clogged injectors if it's not vacuum. None of those things are complicated to diagnose with a capable mechanic.
There are no quick/cheap/easy shortcuts to diagnostic knowledge and competent wrenching. You need to find either a dealership or repair facility that has the skills to solve your problems.

My first thoughts were the fuel filter, fuel pump or injectors. Find a good mechanic that can track down the problem with your car. Please don't give up on the car. It can be frustrating at times I know, but when it is fixed you will be glad you bought the car.

Maybe that's all it is. I hope you don't give up on the car either. They are great cars, but I know as you stated earlier you are commuting an hour back and forth each day, and I'm sure you're concerned about being stranded on the road.
If that hose is not the cure, I would look for a mechanic with HP tuners or EFI Live that can data log it and diagnose exactly what is going on with it.
Best of luck to you.

Oh boy I did that and wow the amount of codes that showed up now where do I look those codes up or post them on here?
post them on this forum in this thread!!! Include the h or c or hc that follow each code and list the codes under the sensor they are associated with ie 10 - pcm or 28 - tcs or 40 - bcm..... Etc.....
I would also clear all the codes that you have. Watch the video carefully to see how to do that.
Then take the car for a nice drive. When you return from the drive, pull the codes again.
Codes that have returned are the ones that you need to be concerned with.
History (h) codes are important. They represent an audit trail of events that have happened and can be particularly helpful in diagnosing problems.

Unfortunately none of those codes help with your surging symptoms.
Most of the LDCM (Left Door Control Module), RDCM (Right Door Control Module) and the Uxxxx codes associated with the RFA (Remote Function Adapter) are indicative of a battery related problem.
Have you recently had problems with the battery or replaced it???
The C2100, C2110 and C2115 are telling you that the Tire Pressure Monitors in the Left front, right rear and left rear tires are not transmitting. (C2105 would be the right front TPM.)
The two HVAC codes can most likely be corrected by a simple process of removing fuse #27 in the passenger footwell fuse box for at least 1 minute and then reinstalling it.
As I suggested, clear all the codes, take the car for a nice long ride and when you return pull codes BEFORE you shut off the engine..
Post the codes that have returned and someone on the Forum will help you with those.
I havent done anything with the battery I will reset the codes before going to school bc thats a 45 min drive and check them again before shutting the car off
