I have had the biggest problem cleaning my windows on my 99 C5. No matter what I use from Windex to plain water they windows streak. I like a clean window and never had this problem with any car before. I attend a different show every weekend and it's driving me nuts.
A forum vendor sells these very thin white "cloths" that work extremely well. I need to find the vendor because I can't find the cloths I purchased. When you look at them you wouldn't think they work but they do.
Never do it in the sun or hot car, nothing will work then !!!!!!!
as some people here know I am a Chadwick's believer, Neil told Me (Neil has over 40 years in detailing cars) that after I finish Chadwick the car take the main micro fiber towel now wet with the Chadwick's (and don't spray the window) and wipe the intended window then with a new micro fiber towel buff it off !!!!!!!! I'm 64 and the streaky window is a pet peeve so it is the easiest and best way I have used !!!!!
I use vinegar in a spray bottle and two micro fiber rags, spray vinegar on the rag wipe and basically buff with the window with other rag....chemical guys has a good video on YouTube on the process.
I had this problem on my 84. Anything I used would streak the windows. I bought some Stoner Invisible Glass in the aerosol can and no more streaks. It is all I use now and can be purchased most anywhere.

I use a microfiber towel and some Adam's Polishes Glass Cleaner. Works very well. I also purchased a small window cleaning tool that has a handle and a microfiber pad on it that allows me to reach down to the bottom of the windshield area inside the car. Just spray some glass cleaner on the pad, wipe the windshield and then go over it with a dry microfiber towel.

Always use newspaper when all else fails. It really does work.
Newspaper is absolutely the best hands down. Absolutely no need for any chemicals or any special rags. Just sprinkle some water with your hands and wipe with some newspaper until dry.

LOL. Hope someone doesn't use an Ipad instead of the newspaper.
Remember the time when every car had paper maps in them and a lot of quarters in the ashtrays for making calls at phone booths that were on every street corner. No cell phones, no GPS. Life was good.
''studying4boards'' , you are right life was good then . i used to sell papers on a street corner before school and peddle papers after school . life was simpler and GOOD .

I am very OCD about my windows being flawless at all times.
I have found that if you spray a little Zaino Z8 detail spray on a Microfiber towel. Wipe the inside and outside of all your windows. Allow the Z8 to dry fully (just a few minutes). Wipe off any haze with a dry microfiber towel.
You will notice that the window surface is VERY slippery afterwards. The microfiber towel just glides across the window surface. I find that the inside of the windows do not haze over near as much anymore.
Just what I find works the best to keep my OCD in check...

What do you use and what's your method???
I have had the same problem on both my vehicles lately. The best I found was Groits Window cleaner and there paper wipes.
I use to use Adams, but it is just greasy and streaks.

That all depends on the composition of your local newspaper. When using my local paper the ink that it left on the glass was way worse than the streaks.
