I had been wanting to yank them even before I bought the car on here. Takes 1.5 hours per side I would say with all steps. Hard on the fingers! I used 50 pound fishing line, but credit card works better and saves fingers...

I'm on the fence here. I like em with and without. Mine are still on, have been kicking it around to take them off. Just can't make myself do it.

I appreciate the desire for for the clean look and the work involved with this project. I purchased my 2004 vert new out of dealer stock and mine already had the BSMs installed. I've always been indifferent to them, however lately I have been thinking about removing them for a fresh look after 12 years of ownership. Plus, I can't imagine a C7 with BSMs and although they were an option on the C6, I never saw them installed.

Funny that they actually look OK on the C5.

I like the c5 with and without them. I think they break up the slab sides of the car. Both of my c5s have had them.

I like the looks of the BSMs on the car, but there is nothing wrong with taking them off - the car still looks great.

I have them on my car, but prefer the cleaner look without them.

To me they suggest a dealer adding profit into the sale by signing up some rube to buy extra stuff his car doesn't need.

For a while , it was easy to find small clear ,contoured with a lip, plastic, "rain and dirt windshield grim deflectors", stuck on the front hood lip of a new pick up trucks as they came from the dealer. They didn't work, was the report from my father in law.

I did not order the BSM on my car. Very few of these cars were around for me to see them in person. I did not think that they served the purpose of protecting the car. The corvette sits so low I still don't think they could do much good. So for me it was not the look as much as the function. Today it most certainly is the look, and again i would not order them.

Car looks great. I've been going back and forth on removing mine as well. What it boils down to though, is that I don't believe it makes enough difference to warrant the work for me. C5's look great with or without BSM's. Maybe I'll get the urge one day and go nuts.
