That lasts about 6 months. Once they get a little bigger it is something resembling a 5 point harness. RECARRO even makes them. I'm assuming the OP is planning on keeping whatever car is chosen longer than that.

Please understand I'm not trying to tell anyone what they should do. If the two door works for her that's great. Just trying to share some practical experience. I don't think the mustang would be unsafe with a car seat. Just a pain in the hindquarters squeezing back there to fool with a child seat and other accoutrements.

I appreciate your point of view and it's definitely one to consider. I could see it being pretty annoying if I went out alot with a kid(s). Who knows how often it will be - odviously I wouldn't know until we're knee deep in the situation.

Default Car seats

kid;1591637711]I do not believe it is legal typ have a car seat in the front in most states. I would not do it. I'm a father of two ( second one just this morning!) and would not even consider it. Nothing wrong with ac5 as a dd...they are pretty reliable...but not for a car seat[/QUOTE]

It's legal to put a car seat in the front seat of a car which was designed only with front seats only

I really wish I could tell you to buy a Corvette. But unless you have a family sedan to drive the babies in, I cannot in good conscience, recommend it.

If you want a sports car (well more like a pony car), I would look at a Challenger, ATS-V, CTS Sport, or a CTS-V. Good to fair back seat room, powerful, good drivers, and more family friendly. A Focus RS or ST is another good car to consider.

However, if you do not have to depend upon a Vette as your daily driver, by all means, go for it! These cars are reliable and great used ones are not that hard to find. Look for the lowest mileage one you can afford that has been well taken care of, less than 60K miles would be ideal.

PS: I feel your pain. Although happily a low mileage Z06 sits in my garage, I have to have a 4 door daily driver due to family needs as well. I would like to make my DD a 2016 Camaro SS, but I cannot do without the back seat.

Best of luck to you.. If you cannot get one now due to family needs, no worry. You will be able to own one one day. Until then, family always comes first. Nothing is more precious than your children, NOTHING, not even a Corvette!

What about considering the C6's bigger, AWD (or RWD if that's your thing) cousin with an actual backseat, the Traiblazer SS? Granted, I don't have kids and I primarily got mine to use as a winter Corvette, but it's got the space and the fun factor!

What's your husband drive? My wife really could care less about cars so she drives a '08 SEL Taurus, it's like sofa on wheels, but it gets the job done. I drive a F-150 Lariat Sport SuperCrew as my DD. My philosophy is two vehicles that can seat 4 comfortably and accommodate car seats. The Vette is a toy.

I'd look for a CTS V or a SHO Taurus if you need to replace the DD. The Mopar's don't do it for me. I'm young for a Vette owner, but I figured if I didn't do it now I'd never do it.

Thanks for the heartfelt advice. I wish I could tell myself to get one too, we don't have any kids yet, but would like to soon. So right now is a great time... in a year or so, who knows. From the feedback I'm getting, it's better to plan having one as a third card - which totally makes sense and backs up my suspision. Like BlackandTan2004, said... I feel like if I don't do it soon I might not ever. That could be wrong, but that's how I feel. haha

P.S. It'sOver9000!! You a Dragonball fan? hah Nice rides though, sporty looking SUV. I modified the Chevy and SS emblems on my Monte to be black like on your Trailblazer.

If you have some time before the family, go for it (as long as it does not put you into a financial bind). Curious, are you looking for performance or driving with the top down?

Just pleasure driving around town some short road trips. Performance I'd be looking for a coupe, with a targa top. Manual, black most likely. Maybe silver or blue. This one would fit the bill nicely. https://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/5452327371.html

In fact, I thought I saw him on here in for sale section, but don't see it now.

"I am open to trades for sporty sedans, specifically a CTS-V, G8 GT, or a 335i." - Taken from the CL posting

https://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/5452327371.html

I really like the Black and Oak combo, but I'm biased

He must have been reading your thread!

My other advice would be only do it if your financial "house" is in good order too!

Forget the forgoing words of wisdom! Just do it. Look for one Corvette that makes your toes curl and buy. You'll never look back... You have only one life to live...

I know, it's so tempting! The financials would definitely be in good order first.

Here is some insight for you...
Your vehicle has a passenger air bag. There’s an air bag
off switch in the glove box you can use to turn off
the passenger’s air bag when you want to secure a
rear-facing child restraint at the passenger’s position.
See “Air Bag Off Switch” in the Index for more on
this, including important safety information.
Unless the passenger’s air bag has been turned off,
never put a rear-facing child restraint in this vehicle.

If you want to read it all I attached the Owners manual from my 02
Hope it helps in your decisions

I am indeed a Dragonball fan! Not sure where you got THAT idea from haha :-P That sporty looking SUV sports the 6.0 LS2, and some nice ones can be had for less than $20K.

Sydwayz knows what's up too! Sharp looking TBSS dude!
