Has anyone found a REASONABLE way to get stereo steering wheel controls on a C5 that doesn't involve reinventing the steering column or doesn't look like a pimple on a goats *** ?

Search steering wheel in this section. I did the other night and someone had taken a C6 wheel and made it work...
I have been researching this lately as well. Dennis @ DoubleD Mods has my radio bezel now after I replaced the factory radio with a more modern Pioneer AppRadio 3.
The C6 steering wheel seems to be the best bet so far even though I for some reason prefer the C5 wheel . I have Googled universal kits for hours without satisfaction.
I fear that other then the C6 wheel conversion there is no way without putting wings on the bricks and inventing a completely custom setup with the C5 wheel.
I have also researched for hours. In my opinion GM put the radio controls on the wrong side of the steering wheel for straight shift cars. (Not just vettes and not just GM). If you install a C6 wheel, that puts the controls within a few inches of the head unit. What have I really gained after reinventing the wheel? (Steering wheel 😂) Still can't adjust while shifting. Especially the volume. I guess it's time to invoke an old saying I've got. "It's not an economical or intelligent thing to do".
I like the C6 wheel but I don't want to mess with the airbag system. Everything I have seen and read leads me to believe that that you will no longer have a functioning air bag system. As far as I am aware no one has successfully solved this issue.
