What would be better getting my car professionally tuned, or should I get a hand held computer tuner to set it how I want it to drive? How much are they which one would be best for me. Thanks Pup
Hand held tuners are pricey for the actual features they provide and you have to know what you're doing. You'll most likely get a superior tune from someone with experience and knows what they're about. Try to do the mods you want and get a professional tune, even if it's mail order, so you only have to do it once. You'll probably get better results and run less risk of making mistakes that could damage engine parts.

Get it professionally done once and leave it at that!!! Unless you know what you're doing and have the top of the line data logger where you can change your parameters when needed then sure, but if you're just looking for a simple fix then DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
BTW, unless you're highly modified (HCI and above) don't bother tuning, the performance gains are not worth the $$$.
I had my car tuned last summer after installing a cold air intake, Corsa X pipe and mufflers, a 160 thermostat, and installing new plugs and wires. I have a 2:73 rear diff on my '98 and it made a big difference in the feel of the car. Not sure of real numbers, but I was happy with the result. The car is close to 20 years old and had probably never been tuned before.
