Both look normal to me. On the trunk, the water collects on the edge. If you open the truck when it's still very wet, it'll drip inward a bit.

Water ANYWHERE on the INSIDE of a C5 is NOT NORMAL.

The water on the door sill is normal. Water in the hatch drain area is NORMAL.

Here is where the water drains out of your hatch area:

When the C6 was being designed, I spoke personally with Harlen Charles (C5 BODY Manager) about specific C5 BODY FLAWS. He was very interested!!

One issue I discussed was the water pooling on the sill area.

The other was water running off the C5 Coupe Hatch DIRECTLY into the BOSE Speakers!

I asked him to HAND WASH the model before he set it to design. He said he would.

Well, when we went to the C6 roll out at Bowling Green it had Rained that morning and the c6 they had on display was soaking wet. Harlen saw me and said, I think you will be happy. He opened the trunk/hatch and NO water drained in.

Opened the doors and the sills had NO standing water. They actually slope Downward on the C6 to allow the water to not collect

THANK YOU Harlen.

STOCK C5 ZO6 rear TRUNK area:

Here is something that I added to my C5 ZO6 to keep water and debris out of the hatch drain area:

All of the seals that you see were added. The back opening lip does not have the seal yet:

I don't mind that water gets into the door sill. When I wash the car, water gets in and cleans the dust out of the sill area. When I'm drying the car, I open the doors and wipe down the door sills and they always look shiny and clean.

Unfortunately, rain also gets into the door sills and brings road grime with it
