Default Bezeling help

Is there anyway to not have to wait 4-5weeks for a bezeling unit for a Double Din radio in my c5. I've been trying to look everywhere to buy a double din bezel for my 2000 c5 but I really do not want to wait a long period of time since im impatient :/

Unless you have the skills to do the mod yourself, the wait is probably what you will have to live with. The only other option is to try and find someone that is wanting to sell a bezel that has already been converted to a double din. Post up a wanted to buy (WTB) thread in the C5 Parts for Sale section and see what happens.

Rarely a double din bezel comes up for sale here on the forum, but it goes quick. I bought mine from Double D Mods a couple years ago and I had to wait 8-9 weeks then, but it was worth it. The 7" Kenwood and backup camera setup I have now are great.

I'm in the same situation. Mine is done but I'm waiting on the new Kenwood.

I can offersome help to an impatient person... there are two ways to pursue this:

1) Contact Dennis, have him help you purchase a system ( head unit ) ask him if he has any DD bezels available ( sometimes he does ) If he does he would charge you full price for a New Bezel that he has altered... he will; send this as a package. Once you receice the New Bezel with the head unit, you will send him your bezel, and if it is infect shape, he will return your core deposit.

If he doesn't have a New bezel on hand. You can do what I did.
2) I removed my bezel, and made a core template from cardboard, and sprayed it flat black,,, so my interior and dash did not looked hacked up while waiting for the new bezel.... it took me a few days to get use to it, but ut was not an in your face hack up... to the point if someone looked in your car, it would not look all hacked up.

Good luck

We are sorry for the time frame as we are just super busy especially this time of the year
We have as of this afternoon a total of 296 bezels to make for all the cars we make them for.

sending us one currently is 4-5 weeks from when received
replacements are running closer to 10 week wait

this is textured time only
hydro custom painted and leather all add more time.

Donna and I are working 7 days a week trying to keep up with orders.

This is a daily sight at the shop waiting to get packed for shipping!!

I know how you feel...I hate to lose out on seat time. So...even though you can still drive without the radio....

...Back when I decided to do this mod, I chose to do it over the winter season when mine was in storage; that's actually when I choose to do mods that will mean down time for the car. It makes the winter season more fun! But I see you don't have to worry about the type of winter season like ours here in Husker Nation!

Anyway...Dennis does great work and was a big help. Go with him and you'll be happy.

we have tried many people out to work for us. We can never find anyone who
A wants to show up on time
B cares about the work they do
C appreciates the cars and not just there for a paycheck.
D can put up with me and Donna being workaholics and can keep up

Not saying you would be an A B C or D LOL just saying we can not find any people in this area who want to work they way we want them to to be more of a help than hinder.

Dennis, I purposely created a Poll here in the C5 section designed to attract every single active member on this forum. I constructed it in such a way that personal pride would encourage every member to vote. I made sure that there could be no cooking of the poll ( increasing the count by making sure that only one poll posting per member could be allowed.) But that person could add a second C5 in that vote if they owned two. The poll was designed to show what year C5 members owned, The thread ran for a week until there were no new votes, but remains still open if someone new comes in. The results were exciting and dramatic... the year talley was heavy in the late 99' year for a while but then as time went on it be=came fairly even across the board. Toward the end ( slowdown ) the tally went heavy and strong in the 2004 year. its was a lot of fun for me , because I am a data guy..... the results were better than I had expected... BY that poll, we have 350 active members on this forum that participate here in the course of 10 day that the poll was very active and at the top of the first page. So my point here Dennis is that you are getting a lot of people in this forum to come to you for your work. Most word of mouth would bring people to this forum ( sign up ) to get feedback on your work, which has been very well accepted in the Corvette community.. Your work ethics are credit to this community.. Thanks and very much appreciated by all of us

I hear that a lot these days Dennis, my Dad kicked my butt everyday to do things right (He didn't though) His favorite saying was "it's better to be 1/2 hour early than 1 second late" (in my Dealership days I worked 80 hours a week)

Thanks as always for your support Bill.
I just dont have much time to be on here anymore to see things and help answer questions for those in need. So people like you and the others who help point them to me or just simply help out is always great to see.

You should call sometime to catch up on things. I am still amazed how many phone calls I get from customers from time to time just to say hi and stay in touch. That is what I love the most about what we do! Of course anyone in the area is always welcome to stop in as well. We all know I am pretty much working everyday of the week and around somewhere LOL

Speaking of work. Emails are now done for the morning and i have 8 vettebins to build today to ship tomorrow so off to the shop I go
