Hey guys, I am replacing the Harmonic Balancer on my car and was wondering if their is anything else that you would recommend be replaced while the work is being done. Thank you guys!

steering rack bushing, since very likely you will have to loosen the rack the clear your harmonic balancer

Sweet, thank you! I think I will have to do that, I love the way the steering in the Corvette feels and anything that makes it feel better is all good in my mind.

Theres not really much preventative you can do with the rack removal. New bushings can't hurt.

Take your time with it, its a pain in the *** your first go around. Be careful with the aluminum ears on the subframe as your sliding the rack to the passenger side.

I take the fans out...helps with room. Maybe not necessary but takes 5 min to save you 30 fighting it later

I picked up 30rwhp with headers, X, intake and tune...car felt totally different in a good way

Definitely - Your oil pump!

Either one of the two Melling oil pumps listed are a vast improvement over the GM pump.

pin the balancer to the crank and use and ARP bolt with red loctite.

A 228 cam at 112 really wakes up the Z06.

A guy reads this thread and makes him feel like once your eyeballs are looking directly at the harmonic balancer it's time to rebuild the whole motor...lol.

Thinking about getting to that eventually just got the harmonic balancer put on and the car running. Can't decide yet whether to keep it N/A or go with a pair of turbos.

Will probably get to the oil pump when it gets more power to it, right now it's stock . But thank you for the advice.

I should have done that, completely forgot. I will eventually come back to it when it starts to make more horsepower. Thanks for the advice
