Default head recommendation

Will be having a BTR stage 3 cam / springs/ push rods installed soon in my 02 Z. I don't have time to have my heads ported so I need to buy a set. Does anyone know of a particular head that works well with that cam ?

Thanks

Id holler at Brian Tooley....he'll clean up a set of Trickflow 220's that will make just as much power w/o the inflated price

If you're in so much hurry that you need finished heads, I recommend Trickflow 215s. They're already to go, but you might need roller rockers. This was required years ago, and I'm not sure if that's still the case. The 220s mentioned above are not CNC'd, but perform nearly as well out of the box, and are cheaper.

I found a set of 799's that have been port and polished. Milled to .030, manley valves, PAC 675 springs, ti retainers, compression 11:2:1....3,000 miles on them for $1,000.

799/ 243 are the same right ? Different mfg. Locations ?

I am running TEA ported 799's... They flow amazing with my 414 stroker, ported FAST 102... Just my experience.

The 799's are made using a sand-casting process and have a much rougher appearance than the 243's which are much smoother looking by comparison.

Some have indicated that the 243's are worth an extra 5 hp over the 799's due to the more precise method they're manufactured by - however after porting and polishing there would be no difference in performance at all.

Although I never used AFR heads on any of my Chevys , they have matched head/cam/intake combos for a couple of my Mustangs with great results.
