Want to hear from members with the xtream exhaust. How do you like them. If you know, how is the volume compared to bullets and stinger's
Don't want to make a 1400$mistake
PS
X pipe or no x pipe
Thanks
I have the extreme on my 03z, rest is stock. Youtube videos were of no help making the decision--find a car with them. It's lets say authoritative at idle, can be driven pretty quietly through towns with db limits. Mandatory for me was NO drone, and there isn't any. However, at WOT, quite sure it echoes through the entire valley, and cops miles away can hear it. Hope they like the tunes, they all love Vettes, lol. I wanted less backpressure and louder for the track.
I have Corsa Xtreme with the x pipe. Cold air intake is the only other engine mod. I was able to listen to several exhaust options along installation alley at Corvettes at Carlisle. Bullets and Stingers are probably louder at WOT. I felt the Corsa was more refined and offered the best of both worlds.... loud when you want it to be loud, but quiet enough at cruise speed with no drone.
At start-up and at idle, the Corsa sounds stout. It screams at WOT. Cruising on the highway, it is quieter than stock. It's louder than Corsa sport but not too loud in my opinion. If I wanted it louder, I could add headers and still have the benefit of the reflective sound cancelation technology of the Corsa that eliminates the drone frequency.
Without the x pipe, some say the Corsa sounds like a gurgling motorboat at idle. It is also more likely to pop under deceleration. Either x pipe or stock H pipe is fine, depending on what you prefer. If you eventually get headers, the headers will have an x pipe so getting the Corsa x pipe would be redundant.
I have Corsa xtremes with Kooks headers, x-pipe and high flow cats. Best investment I have made. Sounds fantastic and 0 drone and passes our yearly emissions testing.

I have them and wouldn't get rid of them for anything else... on a stock or lightly modded car they aren't overkill but the more you mod the car the louder it gets... most big name headers have an x-pipe incorporated into their system so if you ever plan on doing that then I would skip the x-pipe for now

I have the exact same setup and love it. Loud and mean at WOT, no drone.
I have the Corsa Xtreme...When I first installed them the car was otherwise standard. Put the X pipe on at the same time and loved the sound....exhaust burbled on decel which I also liked.
Then added ARH long tube headers, cam, intake etc etc and removed the cats and OMG...
Loud as hell idle and even louder acceleration. Far too loud...Sounded mean but no...
Got a custom built stainless resonator made and fitted it around about where the gear lever is and now its awesome.

I had almost same experience as above, was great stock, after headers, cam, supercharger it was way too loud, I went Ti's and its much better for me. It was great stock, I have to say again!
It is basically a straight pipe if you look at it close, muffler is only a resonator off to the side!

Hit the nail on the head with this one. On a very mild modded car, they shouldn't be over bearing. With headers, they WILL get noticeably louder. Add a cam to that, and well, you have a monster for exhaust. I will also add that they sound more tame with CORSAS cross over pipe. I don't have corsa's pipe. I have LG's offroad X and It makes a difference. I cant speak for every other X on the market but id like to believe others would be similar. Corsas on my car with a big cam and a stroker are nothing short of vociferous
Here I actually just made this tonight. Sorry for the quality. I need a new camera. This is a cold start and 3k rpm revs. Didn't want to get into it cold. Plus my Everio did not like how loud it acutally was. Will need to back it up some next time. Enjoy.
