Default Another tire thread

Been reading up on multiple tire sizes and just ordered a 18/19 wheel combo but need help with tire size. For sure want to run a 295/30/19 in the back and a 275/35/18 in the front as everyone else does. However the rear tires I have are new only they're 265/40/18. Will these fit on the front or would it be easier selling these off and getting the size I want. Seems like a waste of good tires..

What he said... plus your final tire choices are under what's recommended also. You should go either 265-35-18 & 295-30-19, or bump the rear to 305-30-19

The overall diameter of the 265/40-18 is 26.6" and the overall diameter of the 295/30-19 is 26.1" so the front tires will be 1/2" larger than the rears. That is backwards for what the C5 needs.

General rule of thumb is that to avoid TC issues the overall diameter of the REAR tire needs to be 1/2" to 1 1/2" larger than the overall diameter of the front tire. Of course you can avoid the TC issues if you put the car in Competitive Driving mode every time you start it. But if you forget, be prepared to TC to step in when you begin to drive........
So basically it would be to bump up the diameter of the rear or make the front diameter smaller?

Not sure how much 305's would protrude from the side of the car but I don't think they would fit on a 10 inch wide wheel.

Yep, pushing it. Go 265/295 or 255/285
