Hello guys,
Recently aquired 01 zo6 approx 30k miles!
The current tires have have quite a bit of rubber on them. No visible rot and visually in good condition. However, they are 9 year old tires.
The front tires I noticed the inner edges are worn much more then the rest of the tire. Rears seem to wear evenly and practically full tread.
So the question and issues...
Around 70 mph I notice the car begins to get shakey. I have not gone over 80 because of this reason (that would be speeding too...haha).
Also, the car seems darty or jumpy on corners and uneven pavement.
Diagnosis?!
Tires or alignment or both?
Alignment specs for sporty around town driving?
At 9 years old I'd replace the tires. Inside of front tires will scrub off sooner, so your alignment might be OK. But if the car seems jittery I'd get a factory Z spec alignment done.
The insides will wear down to show cords before the outside looks worn at all. This is the normal factory set up for the Z06. Have an alignment done at a good tire shop and they can take out some camber for better tire wear.
