Congrats.

I like the Black on Red on the C6. Not sure I would feel the same about it on a C5.
Colors are funny things. They look different on different cars and especially Corvettes.

OK, so I'm a spy, over here from the C6 Forum. I have had two C5's that I loved, so I have hands-on experience with both C5 and C6.

So, on the subject of headlights: no question, the C5 looks WAY better. Yes, the gears get worn out, but they are pretty inexpensive and easy to fix. Go look on the C6 Forum and see how many owners are having troubles with "fogging" of the clear headlight lenses. I just replaced mine at a parts cost of over $500 (and I did all of the work!!!!).

On the subject of door handles: Even when they are working properly, I absolutely HATE the way they have the delay before you can open the door. What was wrong with the way they did it on the C5? They worked every time. It wasn't broken and Chevrolet shouldn't have tried to fix it.

The C6 isn't without it's good points. It has way more power than my C5's had, but, truthfully, I don't need that much power. I really like the 6-speed automatic. The interior seems nicer (and quieter).

Given the choice of two cars (one C5 and one C6), both the same color, same mileage, same condition, similar options that I wanted, same price, I would have a very difficult time choosing which one to buy. Neither one would be a bad choice.
