Took my 1999 out of storage today. Upon start-up, the headlights flip up & turn on. They won't turn off until the car is shut off and doors are locked. that happens about 30 seconds later. Any ideas?
Not enough info but I'll take a guess- see if you have RPO T85. If you do, go to your DIC and turn off Twilight Sentinel... It was an option I believe in 1999 (first year). Hope that helps...?
The Twilight Sentinel feature is active and needs to be deactivated. Scroll through "Options" on the DIC until you reach "Twilight Sentinel" and confirm it's status is currently "on". Select "off".

That is a problem with the ambient light sensor. Either an open circuit or a short to ground. Either will cause the BCM to turn the HLs and Park lights ON.
I would guess the circuit is open.
Need any DIY info? Not hard to access it by the dash defroster vent.

Mr. Sam
Thanks for your help. I disconnected the battery & reconnected it. Everything now works. Cleared the codes; they have not returned. Go figure...
