Thank... sometimes I come across as a real dick...but, I don't really mean to... I had been up for 24 hours... baby sitting a freaking plunger lift well and should have been in BED rather than on the forum anyway...lol
Glad he was forgiving...

It's a corvette forum, not a high school debate. We should all try to be civil with our corvette brothers know matter what question(s) they throw out there. And no matter how often it's been asked. We're all here for the same reason, advice.
No worries. I do know they stop depreciating at a certain point
And then start to appreciate in value. I have no clue
As to when.
I sold my '96 Z28 to buy my dream car(50th present to myself)
In 8 years the difference was $2000 less than what I paid for it.
But I'd bet the farm it will always be worth as much or more when
The guy that bought it from me decides to sell it down the road.
If I could afford it, I would have kept both.
Nice Camaro, I still have my '99 Z-28 with 6k on it. From '98-2002 the camaros had the same drivetrain as the C5. Not a bad car for the money.
Thanks. It was an amazing car for 8 yrs. I bought it in '08 with 75K miles
So it was never going to be anything special. A daily driver that I took from Canada down to Palm Springs, LA, Vegas etc. Sold it 2 months ago with 114K miles.
My new toy, the Vette I've wanted for 30 yrs, might be the wrong car for me.
It's minty beyond mint. Only has 23K miles and I've already turned away from 5 or 6 different restaurants due to parking issues. If there's a hint of rain we take the wife's Accord.
And recently she's been talking about a 4000 mile road trip, this caused me to run to Enterprises' website to check on convertible rates.
I shoulda bought something with some miles and a ding or two.
As far as finding what might have been done to the car when it was under warranty, you should be able to take the VIN to your local dealer and they can get into their computer system and run you a report. I had that done to mine when I bought it back in 2009.
Thanks. I guess I was looking for more of a paper-trail for the next guy.
Other than receipts for floor mats (they are awesome) a corvette cover and maybe an air filter, there's really nothing.
Car Fax showed some stuff...oil changes early in life and a speaker replacement on warranty but that's about it.
Maybe once I get my package from the Museum I'll stop worrying about when the tires were rotated. (Yes, I know, they never were)

I would verify all the fluids are fresh, I.E. change them. Give it a good condition inspection and drive it like you stole it! I think thats what Chevrolet designed them for, enjoy. Mike
It's not an issue of previous service history, it's cool to know the ownership history. I have a 1964 Studebaker Avanti R2. I am the fifth owner and have every previous owners name, address and exact dates of ownership. It's cool yo know. Keep digging it's possible to find the info.

Congrats on the new car. I was lucky when I purchased my 04 about 9 years ago from the original owner with 8500 miles on it. If he saw the car today, he'd think it was as exactly the same as when he sold it to me.

Until he heard it start up
Thanks. Other than 40-50k miles more my Z28 convertible was in roughly the same shape 8 yrs later when I sold it. And as with it, I'm going to keep
The Vette as stock as possible.

Thanks but being a Canadian and having a car originally from the USA doesn't make it any easier to hunt down info.
