For those of us who are about to install one could you elaborate on your "LMC5 story" What problem did you have? And, after a few conversations, I agree, Richard offers killer customer service!

I was doing the brown wire, I didn't use the right green one. Richard got me on track, but my car would work on the brown wire. I called him again he to put the wires back and it worked. He said some vettes would not work on the brown wire.
Just for reference , I fixed mine today by literally pulling the wheel to the right until the pin "snapped", the wheel was free...and the warning to "service column lock" also went away
The only bad part of it all Is I spent $300 on a new battery for no reason
Now time to fight with them to try to force a return

I had NO issue what so ever, the RECALL 05081 had been done...
After joining the forum and seeing this issue with the MN6 cars I ordered and installed the LMC5 as a preventative measure...
Had some problems with the install...one of the pins would NOT release... after talking with Richard I was able to get the LMC5 installed and have the peace of mind that the CL issue is taken care of

For better or worse I'm choosing not to have the recall done but definitely install the LMC5 as soon as I can.

Strongly recommend you read the instructions numerous times including the notes related to the column lock and the right time to pull the fuse. Take your time - as there is no hurry to get it done right the first time.
I've done two of them - sweated the first one - the second was a piece of case. Again, do it when you have plenty of time and follow the instructions. If you have any doubts, stop and call Richard - He's the greatest.
So here is my story. I took last Thursday an Fiday off to work on the car, 99 FRC, to get ready for a large car show on Saturday. It has been on jacks for a week in the garage, changing rotors, pads, painting calipers, etc. I had purchases the LMC5 a few weeks ago for preventative issues. Have only had the dreaded pull key message 1 time. Friday morning I finished the breaks and new end links and took the car for a test ride. Came back home and started the exterior detail. Finished the engine bay and exterior at 4:30, went to start her and put back in the garage and the message appeared and the column was locked. I pulled out the kit and went to town installing it. Had issues, called Richard 4 or 5 times and he worked with me on the phone until I got it done. It was probably 3 or 4 hours of calls and he was great. I still have the message appearing a few times and have to pull the key and restart, but no column lock. I will be calling him Tuesday to see hoe to correct this. Could not have come at a worse time, but the customer service was fantastic.
I just started getting the Service Column Lock message on the DIC last week. I am not getting the pull key message and so far all I have to do is reset the message. However, I did order my LMC5 and will be attempting the install next week. I watched the install video and it does seem straight forward. However it is good to know the customer support is just a phone call away.
I really need mine in as I hear that lock every time and makes me nervous. However I am trying to find a time when I can have two sets of eyes and preferably during business hours as it seems that the install can go smoothly but some have had issues. I would like to have Richard available just in case....
