OK, so approx. 2 years ago I had the dredded column lock issue, I had my mechanic install the LMC5 and it worked perfect, After he installed it he told me about the pull key and wait 10 seconds message that it was giving me. He said that it should cycle thru and go away with time and he was right. Took about 3 months of driving it every weekend and it did go away. I changed my battery to an Optima yellow top about 6 months ago and it came back and I have been driving it a lot since then hoping that it would also do the same and go away and after all this 6 months of driving, it still hasn't gone away. Anyone know why? or how to get rid of it ? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...CorvetteBob

Get back in touch with Richard at Compliance Parts. Apparently there is a modification to some of the older LMC5 units and Richard can tell you whether or not the mod will eliminate the pull key, wait 10 seconds message.

I've had my simple CLB for 6 years with absolutely no issues. Plugged it in and forgot about it. But I guess CLB's are no longer the in-thing. People prefer to mess around with wires, fuse boxes and such. Oh well, I guess I'm old-school.......LOL.
But serously, good luck with your issue. I know that column lock problems are extremely frustrating.
