I loaned my C5 to a family member for a few days. Got a call after their first longish trip - "Just cannot believe how comfortable this car is". This from an Infiniti sedan owner.
And they're right. I do a lot of long highway runs and it IS very comfortable. Mind you, I have avoided installing brick hard shocks which some seem to like. Just plain old F45 which still works just fine.
A 3-4 hour ride in my car is brutal. Comfort is the last word I'd use to describe my car and it's all stock. But then it's a Z06. Coming from Mercedes, Lexus, and Acura guy.
Seat were not a high priority in the budget... most of it went into the design and the drive train.. the seat are very light weight by comparison but do a decent job for what they are.. Very adjustable. two adjustable lumbar bladders, and adjustable wings that will keep you planted firmly in the seat.
Light weight, stay within budget avoid the gas guzzler tax...Prime directives of the design from Dave Hill.

'99 6m vert. I've done some longer drives, the longest being about 1300 miles. The car is very comfortable for me once I'm settled in. I can spend all day driving without complaint. Just love C5's! Y'all take care!
I've never understood the criticisms levied against the c5 seats; sure the interior and upholstery are pretty minimal for a "$54,000" sticker. But the seats seem comfortable enough. I've driven cross-country (2500 miles one way) several times and the journey always has 3 'legs' or less... minimally, Leakesville, MS to Kerrville, TX (11 hr), Kerrville to Phoenix (13-1/2 hr), and Phoenix to Richmond CA (13hr).
I've always found the seat comfortable enough for those long commitments, otherwise, I'd extend the trip an extra day or two. I only ever stop for gas, and maybe a nap at a rest area; the seat seems comfortable enough for that to me. Sometimes I'm 'fresh' enough to continue beyond the target waypoint. My best is Leakesville to El Paso in 19 hr; on that trip, I just lucked out and never hit the commute traffic in the big-city waypoints (New Orleans, Houston, San Antonio, etc.).
I've found the z06 seat to be at least as comfortable for me as my old Lincoln Mk8 or the '97 C-class MBZ. My z06 isn't stock either... Pfadt shocks and sways.

It's not about comfort, it's about how you fall out of them when you turn the steering wheel and how the backs flop all over the place.
