Default Performance cam price?

I'm looking to get a mild cam in my stock 1999 corvette M6. The only mods I have are car back exhaust and a CAI. I'm wandering how much it would be for a shop to install, I live in central coast of California so labor tends to be pretty expensive. I would do it myself, but I have virtually no mechanical knowledge.
Thank you

It has to be CARB certified but if it's not smog techs do appreciate tips if you know what I mean.

You have specific goals in mind or just doing a cam swap because it sounds cool?

I'd like to see an extra 35-45 extra rwhp. It's my dd so nothing too crazy. I'd also be swapping pushrods valve springs etc.

You know you can do that (well close to that) with Long tube headers... Vararam CAI... cat back exhaust... LS6 intake and a tune? Just sayin...

Long tubes are very CA illegal, if a cop pulls you over and sees those suckers it's a very unpleasant ticket. Already have cat back and vararam.

out of my depth here, but comp cams bought a new testing machine a while ago and has been introducing new product ever since. Just saw another new cam line advertised in the latest hot rod magazine . I would first look there for a smog legal cam, a california company with the ability to run state of the art testing might be a good place to check.

all the best

Total cost would be in the neighborhood of $2000 for parts and labor. Best to do it at a shop that can dyno tune as well.

This for sure, dyno tune could end up being hundreds extra. Get it included in the package deal. Install and tune

No smog tech is going to notice you have an aftermarket cam unless it's got a wicked lope. They're going to take your car, attach the computer, and call it a day.

Unless your car is pre-2000, in which case, just make sure the overlap is basically non-existent; in other words, get a cam that _looks_ like a stock cam from the sniff perspective.

If you are asking for recommendations, you need to ensure you set this up properly.
This includes a free flowing exhaust as well as headers and cats.
Being stingy will not make it reliable or help you get the most out of it.
On top of this a good cold air intake or OTR intake would maximise this combination.
Being an LS2 I would certainly upgrade the intake manifold to a FAST 102mm as this is a far superior piece to the standard LS2, however this not crucial or required but beneficial and you will make more power.
For reliability and longevity you will also need dual valve springs rated . 650 lift as well as stronger pushrods for any camshaft.
For a camshaft recommendation, for a stock converter a 223/230 115+2 is about the limit you can go while still having great driving manners and a mild idle.
The next step is a 227/234 113 LSA +2 which will give you the same power range, but you will require a 2800rpm stall converter. However you will have that idle you are after. It won't be radical but aggressive enough.
If you go any further than this you will need to do CNC head porting and fit an even higher stall converter.
Next step is a 231/242 112 LSA +2 This will require a 3500rpm stall converter. This will have a radical idle and be a monster from 4000rpm+
This is the best advice I have to give you to achieve your goals and have great reliability.
