My friend recently bought a 99 Coupe but there is a button in his center console between the fuel door release switch and the accessory port it looks like it was factory installed, can anyone tell us what that is or used for? Nothing like this on my 02.
That's not factory, my guess would be a fog light switch (possibly lights removed) or neon lights.............something along those lines, but definitely not factory.

I agree that is not something from the factory. You may have to take the center console off and see if you can trace where the wiring goes. The idea about exhaust cutouts if the car had them is a good one.
Lot of guys don't want their antenna to go up when listening to CD's. Some don't want it to go up at all with the radio on. Some get worried when it stays up for more than four hours.
Coupes don't have antennas. That is a switch that is commonly used with heated seats. Turn it on and see if the seat warms.
I didn't notice the "coupe" in the first post. It has antennae, but not a power antenna, so you're right it's probably not for that. If it were my car, I'd trace the wires. I'd have to know.

Ha, I got that.
Heard the other day that some young kids in church were asked if they knew what the resurrection was. None of the kids knew, but one boy piped up that he'd heard a man on TV warning that if it lasts more than four hours you should see someone.
You could try to trace the wires like Al Bundy to try to figure out what that mystery switch does, or you could just push it and see if the dog house lights up or something else!
